There are places that just serve food, there are real restaurants and then there are places like Meat. A place where passion, enthusiasm, quality and knowledge are present in a great way. A place that is grown from love for meat and curiosity for new possibilities. A place that is so much more than just a place where you can eat meat. It’s a place made for true food enjoyers.

Do you know the feeling of craving a good piece of meat? So you order it in a restaurant and then they ask you: “How would you like your meat to be?”.  Are you going for a ‘rare’, ‘well done’, ‘medium’ or are you going to say, what everybody seems to say: “I’ll take a medium rare(?)”.  There are a lot of people that know the difference, but there are also a lot of people that don’t know the true meaning of these meat terms. And that’s fine. It’s definitely alright if you go to Meat, because they love to explain it to you.

Every piece of meat has it’s own story. That is something that becomes clear when you visit this hotspot with the biggest terrace in the old harbour. It doesn’t matter what steak you choose, the waiters know exactly where the meat comes from. This knowledge and enthusiasm is something that the kitchen has as well. They know how to prepare the meat in a perfect way. You won’t find chewy meat on your plate, unless you like that and asked for it.

For the people that are not so into steaks, there is more than enough to enjoy. A lovely burger, grilled in the Josper oven, and chicken thighs are a few of the dishes that are also on the menu. The real carnivores will get exited if they see the first course dishes. For example, the carpaccio is slightly thicker then normal, because it’s sliced by hand. It’s cut from a certain piece of meat that brings nice flavour and texture. As you can see, there is a lot of thought put in every dish.

At Meat they’re never doing nothing. They’ve been busy for almost two years now and aren’t close of being done with it. that’s why they are always busy exploring new things. Right now they’re playing with the idea of having their own ‘Meat-cow’ and only using that meat for their dishes. They are busy with the new menu for upcoming seasons and they are starting the Meatclasses again! Thank you food gods. These evenings are full of good food, great people, lovely drinks and knowledge. During these meat classes you learn why the meat tastes the way it does. A very cool experience! Meat is the perfect place for good food lovers. As soon as you come in you feel the relaxed vibe and that’s mostly because of the interior. Thanks to the glass roof the restaurant is very light. The new style lamps and simple but elegant chairs perfectly fit the picture. No screaming colors or interior, just a cosy and no-pressure vibe. And that makes you enjoy the food even more. We are convinced and we can’t wait to get to know all the stories Meat has!
