Hutspot opens its doors today in the Karel Doormanstraat in the heart of Rotterdam. The popular concept store finally found its way to our city, four years after it was founded. The Hutspot team does an excellent job doing this, with lots of respect and admiration for Rotterdam.
Written in big letters across the store windows, you can see the name Hutspot Rotterdam. It has to be clear that this is the Rotterdam version and not just a simple copy of the stores in Amsterdam and Utrecht, explains Creative/PR manager Sarah van Rij. Next to established brands like Samsøe & Samsøe, Selected, Daniel Wellington, Won Hundred and Blom & Blom, there’s plenty of room for products with a local origin.
Hutspot aims to be a platform for young creative talent, entrepreneurs, designers and artists. They can show and sell their products in the store. Soon the store will showcase the work of Rotterdam artists Jacco Bunt, Xaviera Altena, Ferdy Remijn, Nana van Dijk and others in an exposition.
Hutspot celebrates its fourth establishment with the opening of the store in Rotterdam, next to two stores in Amsterdam and one in Utrecht. Hutspot offers a great variety of products like clothing, furniture, bicycles, lamps, accessories and gifts. The store is located on the corner of Karel Doormanstraat and Van Oldenbarneveltstraat and measures a whopping 600 square meters. The style of the interior has another vibe than the stores in Amsterdam. It’s more like the style of the store in Utrecht but with its own twist. Take the big colorful furniture pieces in the middle of the store for example, they were especially designed for the store in Rotterdam.
Next to being a store, Hutspot Rotterdam also has to be a spot to come and hang out and perhaps to visit an exposition. Everyone is welcome, so don’t hesitate to stop by.
